Danielle Donnelly is the Manager of Sustainability Programs at The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), leading the company’s efforts to improve the built environment and mitigate the effects of climate change on our communities. She is responsible for working with CPC’s internal originations and equity staff, as well as its borrowers and external partners to advocate for, and implement financing solutions to improve the built environment and support the development of high-performance housing.
Since joining CPC, Danielle has played a key role in developing and implementing the company’s sustainability initiatives and practices to encourage adoption of high-performance retrofits and new construction practices as part of its strategic loan offerings and equity investments. Danielle works with CPC’s customers, community partners, and housing agency partners to advocate for common-sense climate and energy policies, develop resources highlighting new technologies and programs to support decarbonization, and provide technical assistance to CPC borrowers pursuing energy efficiency and high-performance design projects.
She has also taken a hands-on role in working to educate borrowers and owners of multifamily properties about the goals and implications of New York State and City’s ambitious climate legislation and how it affects their portfolios, as well as identifying the financing mechanisms and other resources available to future-proof their assets. In 2020, she was a critical part of the team that developed and implemented CPC’s plan to achieve carbon-neutral operations, giving the company the distinction of being the first real estate nonprofit to set and achieve this goal.
Danielle joined CPC in 2018 as a Project Manager in charge of monitoring and compliance for the company’s work administering both New York State and City’s storm recovery programs. She also served at the New York City Human Resources Administration where she conducted outreach to low- and moderate-income tenants and seniors to help them secure resources for repairs, rental assistance, and tax credits from various city agencies.
Danielle received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
