Greg Fitchitt is President of Columbia for The Howard Hughes Corporation, leading the 14-million-square-foot, mixed-use transformation of Downtown Columbia into the Center of Culture and Commerce for central Maryland.
Mr. Fitchitt has over 25 years of real estate experience including planning, development, leasing, design and construction, and property operations. Mr. Fitchitt led the efforts for Howard County’s approval of a $90 million public infrastructure TIF and comprehensive affordable housing plan for Downtown Columbia. He has overseen delivery of the first 1.7 million square feet of mixed-use development in the Merriweather District and the upcoming development in the Lakefront. Before joining HHC in 2013, Mr. Fitchitt completed nine shopping center redevelopments on the west coast. He led the development of Westfield UTC in La Jolla, CA, obtaining entitlements for a $1.0 billion LEED-ND Gold mixed-use revitalization and completing the $180 million first phase.
Mr. Fitchitt holds a M.B.A. from UCLA and a B.A. in Philosophy from Pomona College. He chairs the Downtown Columbia Partnership board, co-chairs the ULI Transit Oriented Development Council for the ULI Baltimore Council, and serves on the boards of directors for the Greater Baltimore Committee and the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore. He also previously served for ten years on the boards of non-profit affordable housing developers in California.
