The Hines New York office opened in 1981 and completed its first developments in 1986 with 885 Third Avenue, (the Lipstick Building) and 31 West 52nd Street. Since that time, the office has completed 19 development projects totaling 13.5 million square feet while acquiring approximately 8 million square feet of existing space in the tri-state region. Along with its development activities, the office currently manages over 37 million square feet of Hines-owned or managed portfolios for third parties, including the Hudson Square Properties portfolio of 12 buildings in Hudson Square, a joint venture of Trinity Church Wall Street, Norges Bank Investment Management with Hines, the operating partner.
