Josh Schuster founded Silverback Development to challenge the traditional approach to urban-based development. He has been unwavering in his commitment to delivering pioneering spaces that defy expectations and set new standards. Since launching Silverback Development in 2016, Josh has completed more than $2.3 billion in real estate projects, representing more than 3.2 million square feet of best-in-class mixed-use residential, retail, affordable, and hospitality properties.

As a former principal and co-founder of DHA Capital, Josh led the development of noteworthy luxury residential developments including 50 Clinton Street, 535 West 43rd Street, and 12 East 13th Street. Additionally, he acquired 75 Kenmare in Nolita, and collaborated with celebrity designer Lenny Kravitz to design the building’s residences.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Josh maintains a generous philanthropic spirit as founder and chairman of the Bicol Clinic Foundation, a non-profit that constructs free medical clinics in developing countries.

He is the youngest member to sit on the board of the Baruch College Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute. Among his other affiliations are the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, Urban Land Institute and the New York Private Equity Network.
